I had my 10 year anniversary with Frost Bank. Can you believe I have worked there since 1999? When my boss gave me my 10 year pin, he asked if I started there when I was in 6th grade. Feels like it!
Brad had his 2 year anniversary with Nintendo. Thank God for Nintendo - That is all I have to say. Plus, it seems even with the economy bad, games are selling well. Guess people would rather spend $50 on a game and have weekends of "family entertainment" then spend $100 for 1 night at the movie and snacks for a movie.
Doc has had CRF for 1 year now, he is trucking along. Has his bad days and his good days. Today was a good day. He had the willies and is now napping with his Daddy.
We just celebrated Brad's Dad's 60th birthday. Enjoyed a nice evening with our sweet nephews Bradley and Greyson along with Molly and Lou. Got to see the Llamas and horses. You should see Bradley "feed" them. It is pretty cute. The llamas are so curious with Bradley. They sniff his head. It's cute. Papa Jim's is the best place for kids. It is like an adventure land.
We have a new kitty. Well not really, she is a neighbors we think, but she loves us. We named her Tonks since we don't know her name. She is super sweet. One night Dave and Brad were out late on the front porch, and I guess she heard them. She came running down the street going "Meo Meo Meo Meo Meoowwwww" the whole way. We didn't see her all weekend, and got a little worried. Figured it was hot and she wasn't going outside. But Monday night it cooled down, we heard meowing. It was her on the front porch. It was like she was saying "Hi friends, I missed you." I want to bring her in the house. What kind of owner lets such a beautiful kitty run around the neighborhood without tags? Brad said no. We know she has an owner, she is brushed and her ears are clean. But still......look at her.....
Mom and Dad have had it pretty hard. First Rosco passed away a few months ago. He had complications with his thyroid and other health issues. Then my poor Honey (my childhood cat) has taken a turn for the worse. But she is into her 20's. She still will eat when Dad hand feeds her tuna or baby food, and she will take a stroll to the back yard for some sun every morning when Dad gets home from work. But I don't think she has alot of time. I asked Brad if I could bring her home. I was there when we found her out in the country, I want to be with her at the end. But he said it would be mean to take her out of her element. He's right, I just love her so much. So every time I go over there, She gets all my attention.
Then to make their animal matters worse, suddenly Marley who was running and playing one second, just fell over and died the next. That was a tough week. Poor Ollie, he was heart broken. He had never been the only dog. He was so sad. So a few weeks ago, I went with Mom, Kim and Jaylee on a VERY LONG day trip to pick up Owen Tater. He is super cute, and has a great personality. And you know my family. They are a sucker for animals. While we were there, Kim fell in love with a little black and tan girl with a crooked tail and had to have her. So here is Owen (white and brown doxie) and Chloe (brown and tan).
So what did I get out of this long trip? I case of Dublin Dr. Pepper!!! That is the best part of driving that far out. I savored every drop, and I am having withdrawals. Next month, on Brad's out of towner, I am going to make him get me more.
A girl has gotta have a vice. And if it isn't Dublin Dr. Pepper, then I'll take either a Coconut Shaved Ice or a nice Mojito (which I have learned to make, and I must say they are excellent).
